Wrap-up

Ubud Twestival has submitted photos and a short text as well as a quote from our charity to be included in the Twestival Book. Looking forward to seeing it! We were only able to submit a few photos as sadly, the laptop containing many Twestival photos was stolen a few weeks after. We also have a revision to the final tally; the charity received another $100 donation, so the total stands at $1300. Thanks again to everyone for their support and hard work!

The Tally

Thanks to everyone who participated and donated funds during the first Ubud Twestival. We raised about $1200 for our charity, Bumi Sehat. We also helped greatly increase traffic to their website, and helped raise their exposure on the web. Bumi Sehat reports that they now receive at least 2 emails a day asking about volunteering, visiting the clinic in Bali, making a donation or bringing much-need supplies as a contribution. So, the long-term effect of the Twestival for our charity is yet to be fully seen ….

#twestival. Thanks to Mary & Wayan of Sawah Sunrise Bed & Breakfast for a raffle voucher for 1 night’s stay in the honeymoon room, and breakfast. They are a brand new small accommodation along the rice field walk in Ubud Kaja. Fall asleep to the croaking of frogs & crickets, and wake to one of the best rice field views in Bali.

#twestival. Thank to Ganesha Books for donating a book voucher for our raffle. They’re another Ubud institution, across from the main Post Office and next door to Bali Buddha (for those who know Ubud). One of my favorite places to browse — with both new and used books, and a very comprehensive stock of books on Indonesia and Bali. Ganesha’s shelves are full of the current bestsellers, and all those books that everyone always meant to read, and finally gets around to reading on holiday in Bali (and then sells to Ganesha before they go!).
